Pastor Chris Oyakhilome And His Holy Spirit Warning For Nigerian Comedians |
Posted: January 4, 2018 |
One of Nigeria’s top gospel comedians, MC Abbey whose real name is Abiodun Sherif Olapade has commented on the elimination of gospel comedy in churches and at Christian events. MC Abbey says that he too loves the Lord, he fasts and prays, but his comedic talent he believes is from God. MC Abbey states that you can’t fight what the Lord has blessed and telling people that the Holy Spirit told you too tell comedians not to joke about church or pastors is a fallacy. Even though Abiodun was addressing the president of Mount Zion Faith Ministries International, it came on the heels of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome the founder of Believers Love World (Christ Embassy International), issuing a message of caution to comedians about using pastors within their joke lines. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome told his mega congregation at the July 2015 Global Communion mission service that the Holy spirit told him in an answer and question session, to warn Nigerian comedians never to joke about the men of God. Pastor Chris did not stop the warning, he also added that the Holy Spirit told him that if comedians continued that they would suffer severe ramifications. Other Nigerian comedians like stand-up comedian Adedayo Adejobi that he owes his success to God and that his trade started in his Lagos church in drama plays. Adedayo cites many religious leaders as men who have helped inspire his life. However, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome continues to tell comedians that they should not joke about sacred things. His prophetic warnings to comedians from on High, according to Pastor Chris, includes a warning that God sends a Man of God (himself) before he destroys a man, therefore joke about other things but not about a man called by God. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is a passionate teacher of the Bible, he is a faith healing minister, a well-known author, owner of different satellite stations, and an evangelical television host whose programs are entitled LoveWorld TV. His LoveWorld TV programs are touted as having more than 2.5 million people viewing the telecasts nightly. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s evangelical networks span the United States, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Canada, Ghana, and his headquarters in Nigeria. Chris Oyakhilome is the founder of the mega ministry of Lagos Believers' Loveworld Incorporated, also called Christ Embassy, a Bible-based Christian ministry. Pastor Oyakhilome has millions of followers and he broadcasts 24 hours a day, as well as teaches before an audience of thousands around the world. Pastor Chris was awarded an honorable doctorate in divinity from Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma, Nigeria. Pastor Oyakhilome also has a Ph.D. in Theology and Pneumatology and has received many different awards and recognitions. According to Dr. Oyakhilome, his warning from the Holy Spirit to comedians continues, as he espouses that Nigerian comedians should try not to joke about pastors, even though he says that your stand-up career is okay. His message to comedians says that they know what they should joke about, but just not men of God. He further said that their lives will be drastically diminished if they don’t stop immediately.
